The Hunger Games - Quotes

I love reading. There's just so much you can get into, and it's just amazing. so, I'll just quote a few things from the book. for those of you who haven't read the series, i'll tell you what these quotes are about without spoiling too much.
Katniss is indecisive (eenie meenie minie mo lover?) about who she loves, that is, if she even loves anyone. But because of her circumstances, she's forced to be with Peeta. and they have this interesting, "I love you but you don't love me the same way" kind of relationship. and they just have this habit of sleeping together (-___- no, not sex. Katniss is a very 'pure' girl) so that they can keep eachother safe from certain nightmares. . . and i think that's all I've got to say, other than
I friggin love Peeta Mallark, and I can only hope for a man like him one day. (<>

“When Peeta holds out his arms, I walk straight into them. It’s the first time since they announced the Quarter Quell that he’s offered me any sort of affection…I wrap my arms tightly around his neck before he can order me to do push-ups or something. Instead he pulls me in close and buries his face in my hair. Warmth radiates from the spot where his lips just touch my neck, slowly spreading through the rest of me. It feels so good, so impossibly good, that I know I will not be the first to let go.”

-Katniss Evergreen (“Catching Fire” chapter 14)

” I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you,” Peeta replies.

“Come on, then,” I say, pulling him into my room.

It feels like such a luxury, sleeping with Peeta again. I didn’t realize until now how starved I’ve been for human closeness. For the feel of him beside me in the darkness. I wish I hadn’t wasted the last couple of nights shutting him out. I sink down into sleep, enveloped in his warmth…”

-Katniss Evergreen (“Catching Fire” ch.17)

“Before he can talk, I stop his lips with a kiss. I feel that again. The thing I only felt once before…this time, there is nothing to interrupt us. And after a few attempts, Peeta gives up on talking. The sensation inside me grows warmer and spreads out from my chest, down through my body, out along my arms and legs, and to the tips of my being. Instead of satisfying me, the kisses have the opposite effect, of making my need greater. I thought I was something of an expert on hunger, but this is an entirely new kind.”

-Katniss Evergreen (“Catching Fire” chapter 24)
